All the talk before the 2008 World Hurdle centred around one horse and one horse only, and that was Inglis Drever who was bidding to re-write history by becoming the first ever horse to win the World Hurdle three times. It was a top class field with the likes of Kasbah Bliss, Hardy Eustace and Lough Derg all well fancied but it was Inglis Drever who went off as a short priced favourite for the win.
As they approached the last it was a three-way race between Kasbah Bliss, Kazal and of course Inglis Drever but the dual winner was under pressure and by no means certain to win. However, as expected Inglis jumped the last the best to give him the momentum up the hill and he stayed the best to claim the historic hat trick to the delight of all racing fans. It was one of the moments in Racing when everyone wanted the same horse to win and they were not let down as Inglis showed all his renowned fighting spirit to claim the win.
